what is tpe-v rubber?

TPE-V is a thermoplastic rubber elastomer which combines the elasticity of rubber with the strength and durability of plastics. Due to the use of plastics in it’s production, TPE-V rubber is 100% recyclable, and able to be reformed and reused in a variety of applications. Its ability to withstand temperatures over 100° C makes it extremely heat and weather resistant, as well as a safe, fire-retardant option for indoor applications. Its non-stick coating prevents granules from clumping or adhering to turf.

Why EPDM and TPV granules are better than SBR?
SBR granules are mostly made by recycling old tires. EPDM and TPV granules from STARGUM are produces from virgin raw materials. That's why their quality, longevity, and technical parameters are much better. EPDM and TPV granules do not contain metal wire, cloth cuts or any other type of waste. They do not have a distinctive smell of tires and do not heat up like black rubber. Besides, they are pigmented during the production process, they aren't only coloured from the outside, that's why their color does not wear off with time. An additional advantage of the TPV over SBR granules is that TPV can be reprocessed without degradation of quality parameters.
What is the difference between TPE, TPE-V and TPV?
TPE is a general name for thermoplastic elastomers. TPE-V is another the name of TPV, both mean the same thing - thermoplastic vulcanizate.
WHY to PURCHASE GRANULAT TPV if it is more expensive than EPDM?
TPV granulate is very light - the weight density of about 500 g / dm3, resulting in much lower consumption than EPDM granules. Therefore, it is also economical to purchase TPV. In addition, TPV granules are modern, environmentally friendly product that thanks to reprocessability is easy to recycle and reuse, which is important after end of sports surface lifespan.
Does STARGUM produce real TPV granules or IS IT ONLY A TRADE NAME?
STARGUM TPV granules are produced according to the chemical nomenclature and ISO. According to those, thermoplastic rubber vulcanizate is a blend of thermoplastic material and rubber, which is crosslinked in the process of dynamic vulcanization. As a result, our granulate can be reprocessed, which is impossible in the case of an ordinary rubber.
